In short:
More options and more logical usage of auctioner.
(This was for all those who hate long posts)

In long:
Like Jumbo suggested in his post there should be categorys for items, but IMO
this could be also be used for full force if implented.
When you put item for sale IMO you should be able to define what category it
belongs and the speed you want to sell it. This categorazing could then be in
future used to define what offerings does person hear from auctioner. Also if
by giving the seller option to define how fast he wants the item to be sold
would allow the use of auctioner for those players that are used for 2minutes
sale and bid rushes.

So if this speed and categorizing option would be implented, a person could
set that he hears only auctioners shouts/tells/sales messages about spr
category. Also that auction could have as short as 1mins rounds or as long as
1 days long rounds, respectly for those who want fastest or best profit from
the item.

Also it would realy reduce this haterd among players vs the auctioner if they
could furthermore define in what intervals they recive auction offerings. When
item in category that i follow comes to sale, gets a bid, enters to new
auction round and/or enters the last auction round.
If these kind of options would be possible to introduce to auctioner, it would
IMHO good to remove the need to pay 10k to get your 20k worth item for
auction.I am alredy paying the 1% share for the auctioneering for the selling
and every auctioneer that i know does the advertaising for the fee he gets and
does not keep quite about the item he is suposed to sell forward. He is after
all geting zero if he cant get the item sold. Heightening the fee to 2% and
geting the advertaising for fee i already am paying for would enable it to
realy sell cheaper items too.

As to ease the confusion what properties the item has and remove cheats about
sold item stats, it would be realy handy that if you give the auctioner 1%
bigger cut from the price, he could tell the viewer what effects it would have
on the viewer, if it has his name on it, quality, what material(s) it is made
of, (max) condition and its sac value.
e.g.
This item would take your head slot, increase slightly your int and looks
familiar to you. Even as it badly made of steel it would be consider as a 123
gold worth of sacrifice.

If the 2% share seems too low for such information from item you are planning
to buy, it could be broken to steps. Give 3% share and viewers see effects and
if they got their name on it, 4% revelas also condition and material(s).

(This post contained needless if/could/would/IMO/IMHO's for those not
undestanding that i am in no position demanding anything, thus these
inexperienced poster readers should be at ease)
