I for one agree wholeheartedly with jacen. The problem is imho that the
administration lets wizards have too much lee way in their own personal
decisions about rape prot. Rape prot is a mud wide problem and should be left
to the top end general administrators to decide how to deal with. Right now
every wizard can decide how often / what kinda rape prot to put on their mobs.
I would say that rape prot is the single most important aspect of maintaining
this game. It is also the single biggest causer of friction between players
here. IT NEEDS MORE ACTIVE ATTENTION FROM THE ADMIN. As proof of how
ineffective general rape prots are look at the names of players who kill
stifism,trilloch, and zoo. Ill bet its the same 35 players for the past 2
years, give or take a few. Same with tiger gms. Plus all the tiger gm
killers are finnish. If youre american, just give up ever getting a named
SILK piece of eq, that will distingrate in a few months of heavy playing.
(if unnamed). Look rape prots should balance two aspects of this game, the
necessity of reducing eq flow into the game, with the fairness aspect of
distrubuting the eq to all players as they solve the areas, and allowing the
lower lvl guys coming up to feel like they have a fair shot at making the big
time. These two aspects, fairness v. reduction needs to be considered
better. The whole idea of rape prots are lame, but the simple fact is that we
have too many fuckheads here whose policy is, if there isnt some fucking
daddy-based rule against it in the code im going to abuse it every day even
tho i dont need the eq really and finally get the eq removed or downtuned or
what the fuck ever. You know who you are, and FUCK YOU!!! (sorry maybe that
should have gone in flame).
