pour force_absorption 2 in force_absorption, so 2 half full potions can give 1
full.

Um, I think alchemists use a special skill called "recanting" to do that.

I think the recanting skill will take 2 full potions and make one of a
stronger color. Been a while since I alched, possibly it also combines
partials into same color.

In fact, I just checked 'help skill recanting' and saw listed:
Component: full potion, and full potion 2

So, I think this calls for an 'rtfm!' Either way, an alch-only skill doesn't
seem to be the right solution to krzy's problem. An average user should be
able to combine them, and if you want to be really paranoid, you could put
some sort of 5% fumble chance causing you to drop the potion on the floor.

OK, to make public what I've been telling people in private:

a) BatMUD does not take a lot of "common knowledge" things for granted. You
need 10% of a skill to recognize an apple on a table or a hunk of stone in the
ground.
b) Alchemist potion flask are small, holding at most 10ml of fluid. No way do
ents or ogres have the manual dexterity to deal with that.
c) Potions are volatile, magical substances that go off when you "throw" them.
Taking a pair of half-empty flasks labelled "acid doom vial" and pouring the
one in your left hand into the one in your right...well, your tarmie may have
to get you off the floor with a mop.

In the end, I think an ogre barbarian should feel the same way about mixing
two
vials of bubbling green magic fluid as I feel about changing the fan belt in
my car. I don't care how mnay people tell me it's an easy job, I'm not
touching that damn thing till I know what I'm doing, and that means research.
In BatMUD, research means skill%. It's not water with food colouring, it's
concentrated magic looking for an escape route. Learn the subject material or
call a professional alchemist.

P.S. I fumbled and had to call a tow truck.
