make a new skill: inquisition

affecting stats could be cha/str/wis

It can be used to interrogate an npc to find out crucial information!

str affects how fast you get the information
wis affects if it is false or correct information
cha is there just for the looks

This skill is used to make lots of pain to a mob and then force the
information out of them. You can ask stuff like:

which players have they seen recently, and which way did they go
which players have killed them and how often in the last day/week
And ofcourse this could be used to force some information out of some mob
related to quests or area scerets. ie: you have a farmer and he has a
suspicious looking fireplace in his room, you could interrogate the farmer to
find out what is the syntax to the fireplace ( enter fireplace)

This skill might be remotely useless to tracking players in an area, and it
might be very useful in finding out which motherfucker keeps raping the mob
over and over an who you can blame for ruining your game experience.

The guilds that could get this are:
reavers ( they could torture people for the fun of it, not for the info)
crimsons ( they are organised, they need to know these things)
nuns ( they are evil as anything, besides, insuiqition would fit the theme)
bards ( horrible music makes for good torture, think celine dion)
rangers ( they would be able to torture animals too!)

I am mostly serious about this, it's not a joke in the wrong group, i want to
be able to find out who keeps raping my mobs.

Wouldn\'t it be better/easier to just fix the syntax in the first place? Make a
standard set of commands to do a particular thing that applies to all areas,
and make knowing what to do more important than knowning what broken english
command to type to do it. \'open curtain\', \'pull curtain\', \'draw
curtain\', \'move curtain\' should all work for all usable curtains in all
areas, not different everywhere. Pushing a green button shouldn\'t be \"push
button\" in one area and \"press green\" in another, etc. The \'ask\' syntax
was a large step in the right direction, but after 15+ years, coders still
can\'t even agree on \"read sign\" vs \"look at sign\".

I hope that I\'m not the only one who finds this a beyond-terrible idea.
Highbies \'owning\' areas even more-so than they do now, even when they are
not around, would be a nightmare. =P

Quests and quest-like-areas should just be fixed to not be screwed by the wrong
person killing the wrong monster, or someone grabbing a key that doesn\'t
repop, or whatever. There are too many people on the game now to have to
control what every other person does to try to get something accomplished, and
there are too few non-hack-and-slash things to do to have particular things off
limits or undoable because someone else has gotten there first.

This has been a weak spot on Batmud for a long time now, and from what I hear,
global prot is only making it worse. Why not just fix it right?
