How about if the venturers way block would come _after_ first checkpoint, so
the freaking event wouldn't bother those people who doesn't like to run around
mud trying to find bugging checkpoints?

cant be done since those that are not in the hiking event can still relo to
those that are and cast vw at them. just to many ways to abuse this.

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theyre not.

How about you flag a player the first time he hits a checkpoint as being
unable to receive benfits from the spell venturer's way? This would allow
merchants etc to continue to use the spell without interrupting their play.
The flag could be cleared at the conclusion of the event. Sure VW could still
be used to get to the first check point, but after that you would be unable to
use it.
