In the sprit of the recent armor uptune(?), towards something more realistic,
I\'d like some additional armor slots.

Well, really just one. Shirt. I find it amusing that you can\'t wear a
breastplate if you have a muscle shirt on. There must be other examples, and
even if thre arent, it opens up a whole new slot for eq to be created for.

Actually, you can wear clothes under your armour.
Problem with this is that they won't benefit you anything, not even that + or
- cha for those slots which are covered with armour (and the clothes are
therefore hidden)

Maybe implement them to affect something?

Well, there is not missing that much slots.
Back, knees, lower legs, shoulders, elbows and forearms.

Its for sure that kilt does not protect knees or lower legs nor does greaves
protect upper legs, groin or knees. Nor does Breastplate protect your back
(its the front piece of Cuirass).
I suppose the present armours would protect (part of) the missing slots but
they are still missing, never the less.

There was talk about correcting the armour slots and/or armour names earlier
(around post 6257 on same news group) but it was shot down by not being
significant enough to gain wiz intrest.

Like said, that shirt should got to clothing.
I feel more amused about the fact that the monster who has the shirt is equiped
for battle is wearing only a shirt for protection. The monster is smart enough
to cast spells but decides to encounter its enemys steel with a muscle shirt
on?
Yes yes its funny, muscle shirt ha ha, but retarded on a long run.

A :-D hits you.

Adding armour slots has very little to do with improving protection, and
everything to do with the desire to wear more +suffeli single slot EQ items.
Let be honest about this, at least.

Well, being able to wear armour to protect my (lower) legs when wearing a kilt
would improve it. Or to be able to wear the back part of Cuiras so that my
back wont look like a dartboard. Or that my elbows would see one day without
geting hammered.

Like i mentioned, the present armours would prolly cower (most) of those
\"new\" slots and some would overlap thus you could have to look what armour
to use (e.g. gauntlets and bracelets are no-no). but yes, there would be need
for new equ too.
Wearing a sleeved chain mail would cower, suprise suprise, both chest and back,
shoulders, upper arms, elbows and lowerarms. Debending how \"long\" long is,
they might also cower the bracelet slots.

On the opposite, tough, i would NOT like to see maxspr knee guards, but knee
guards that reduce tripping damage. Those would be roxor for our drunken
master tanks out there (i might get pair of those too).
