...but not that ignore. A new command to inventory: EQ to ignore.
you could put some artifact to 'ignore' as such, so that any command
you give jumps over that item. Like:
# i
A highsteel katana
# eqignore katana
la katana
You see nothing special.
- When looking at your inventory:
# i
A full platemail
A wooden tomahawk
Ignored:
A highsteel katana
Keep:
A torch
The idea? Well, a few times I've have had to carry something stupid
around in my inventory that's been messing with my other items.
Once I went to an area that needed a command 'pull torch'. Well
... you'll guess that my own torch messed that up. And since it's
a barbarian ceremonial torch, I can't drop it. And so forth.

You can 'pull torch on ground', at least for most such syntaxes.
Note that this works even if it's actually on the wall or ceiling.
