Here's an idea for a passive offensive skill for The Crimson Brigade. The
skill is passive in the sense that the Crimson using it stops attacking (or
perhaps attacks at half speed - could be adjustable) to position himself and
his weapon towards the attacker. The harder the attacker charges (ie. the more
damage the mob is about to make), the more damage the mob recieves from
charging into the setup.
The skill would obviously be most efficient against a single big (eq) monster.
The damage delt could be quite large, as the fact that if the monster does not
attack the Crimson making the setup, but another tank in the party, the skill
goes wasted, would balance it out.
To increase the efficiency of the skill, two (or three) Crimsons in the
formation could all do it simultaneously.

That, would be the "Phalanx formation". A highly effective against advancing
opponents while providing excellent defence.
Alas, the longer weapon you are using and the more disciplined the ranks
are, the easier it will be to defend yourself and score a hit to the charging
opponent.

Yes, I'm am "fan" of warfare and also student in school of european
swordsmanship.

Only problem with this is that some of the monsters are HUGE(tm) and would
barely notice some little crimson tinmen holding a toothpick sized sword at
it. The concept of the attacker receiving damage from attacking (such as
thorns in WoW/EQ, that necromancer diablo2, etc etc) is valid I suppose, but I
don't see the login in saying that he will do this type of damage with only a
sword or something. Maybe a pole-arm would make more sense. Also this could
be a prot that requires actions from "gasp" two players to load properly?


Crimson: Use counterattack skill at (conju1)
Your skill is ready.
Your position yourself, and then give a nod to (conju)

Conju1: You see Crimson glance as he gets into position to counter-attack
cast party damage revenge spell at (crimson)
Your spell is ready.
A large energy shield surrounding the party is briefly visible, with a thread
of energy flowing to the weapon of (crimson), and dissappears before you can
really see it clearly.
