A boring day at work so I let my thoughts drift...

Moving and wandering in outerworld should be made generally more exciting.
Outerworld monsters are great, but mostly those are just prey for some
exp-parties. I\'d love to see some kind of randomness in the game.

Please bring to game some kind of rare encounters, e.g. mobs with short
quests, decent random eq/money-monsters somewhere in the wilderness (that
would not show on map), etc..

Here\'s some more detailed, more-or-less good, quick thoughts and ideas that
crossed my mind. Something like this even might have already been suggested in
the past:

-- Bandits that would ambush a single player or a party --

- Size and toughness of the robber(s) should be relative to passing
players\'level and party size
* Lonely muggers would avoid big parties. Well, maybe some stupid
cromagnon robbers could think they can easily defeat a 9-man party
anytime, anywhere ;)

- Bandits would appear in random, but logical locations
* Larger bandit-groups could do fast strike & run -hits even on bigger
roads
* Smaller robbers would prefer places with less eye-witnesses

- Players would have choices to try to get out of the trouble:
* Kindly hand out their money in hope to save their lives
* Try to fight and possibly get killed & get their money looted from
their
cold dead corpses
* Some other kind of interaction with the NPCs? Player could try to trick
the
robbers and flee or evil players could try to join the bandits to kill
& loot
the next unlucky passer-by
* Hell, bringing the leader of the bandits before justice could be somekind
of quest/reputation -thing for knights, too.

- Bandits would disappear from site after the encounter so that the players
couldn\'t just come back with a bigger force
* Maybe somebody could try to track the bandits back to their hideout to
kill
all the bandits and collect their loot
* Loot in the hideout could contain money and even some random but
known equipment (i.e. purple glove, spider sabre, etc. or something
even better)

-- Some kind of NPCs with short quests --

Like these:

A circus clown has a question for you
- Solve a riddle to get a potion or scroll or something

A hunter with a broken leg
- \"I was tracking a deer when a deadly drake ambushed me. I had to run
for my life and now it\'s been hunting me! Please save my life and help me to
get to BatCity?\"

Arrogant gentleman standing on your way
- \"Ouch! You stepped on my toe! Apologize or I\'ll challenge you to a
duel!\"

Strange badger in the lightning and rain
- \"Bring me a mushroom and I\'ll give you 10000 gold!\"

...You get the idea. That\'s it, comment or flame away and sorry for the long
post.

Actually, there is one encounter like this that I know of. There\'s sometimes a
messenger with a broken leg near BatCity, and he asks you to deliver a letter
to a bar or some such.

I rather enjoyed that little quest when I did it, so I second Markuz\' ideas.
More random stuff like that would be fun.

Hiya folks. I'm pretty sure I'll end up regretting that I ever said this, but
there are plans afoot to bring you more excitement what comes to wilderness in
general, and stuff you can find there in particular :)

In other words, there are several coders working on stuff that brings more
flavor to the outworld. I'll say this just to inform you that your wishes have
been heard, and that something is being done. But please, do not ask when this
happens - like with any coding procject, this one will also take its time.
Please be patient and go hunt some drakes meanwhile! ;)
