OK, I\'ve taken a lateral step on my gripes with the new overhead associated
with transportation.
What I\'d like to see is the dependancy on a \"home base\" reduced
somewhat.
Currently all sessions begin and end in the same spot; your start location.
That means when you want to go somewhere you\'ve got to make a trip there and
a trip back.
Now wouldn\'t it be good if your journeys didn\'t require the trip out/trip
back on the same real day (between boots) but instead you traversed the world
like a true traveller.
What I propose is inns. They could be a player city module where a player can
pay a nominal fee per use (or per day) to save his character in that
location.
ie.
I walk into a player city. I pay 100gp to stay at the \"Fiesty Wench
Inn\". This disconnects me from the game.
When I log in 2 days later I\'m at the inn with all my equipment and inventory
saved. I then proceed as normal.
So instead of this constant run there/run back I\'m actually traversing the
world.
A weeks journey might entail travelling to different continents, whacking some
things and staying at many fine establishments.
If I feel like doing some casual play during lunch at work I can park my
character in an Inn near some favourite areas and not have to worry about all
my limited time being eaten up through travelling.
If I need to log off in a hurry I can just run to the nearest inn and stay
there.
Castle rooms will still be used for hoarding but players who don\'t hoard are
free to be constant wanderers.
