I do appreciate the thought and effort that has been put into the revamped
terrain, weather, and seasons. Some really nice flavor.

One thing that I've found disturbing, is this ice in winter time. Breaking ice
(even with swim over 100%) gives more damage then crossing water without swim
skill. Waterwalking seems to prevent the damage. I would like to see having
high swim have a similar effect against ice breaks. I won't insert any realism
or other logic here, I'll let you figure that out. Just seems that both should
give protection of some kind (even if not identical.)
Thanks.

I'll look at it, but I'm not reducing the _cold_ damage, if any. Freezing
water is typically just as lethal as drowning.

How about making it a req that if you fall through ice you have to have
sblades to get out, otherwise youd drown if noone cant help you. Its not easy
to climb out of a hole in the ice without naskalit.

As much as I appreciate all the tells/news telling me how to make the outworld
even _more_ dangerous and inconvenient, I think for now we'll stick to the
moderately tame effects we have. Besides, I read the message as "you put your
foot through the ice, eep that's cold" not "you fall through and it freezes
over your head and your clothes get soaking and your feet get heavy and nobody
hears you scream and your metal boots fill with water and pull you down like
frozen anchors and they don't find your body till spring".

Fairly often, the people falling through the ice are big. So big in fact, that
they don't need to swim while they cross rivers.
In my humble opinion, it'd be quite ridiculous to need jäänaskalit to get out
of knee-deep water.
