I have posted this before, it has gotten 10-20+ "good" ratings, and I haven't
seen a response to this by any wizard... So I'll ask again.

Can the first mate please have some additional abilities. The most important
at this point is: "salvage", some captains are gone for 30-60d and let first
mate use their ship, but once Rocker and Shar sink it, no ship for 30-60d... I
am not sure the rational for this but it's not that uber a tune.

Second: Please allow the first mate to make/store/import/export
maps/charts/paths. Ships are very expensive, I see no reason two people should
not be able to share them most equally, after all, only one person can use it
at a time, just like EQ, Spider Demons, City Rooms, Cities, etc. There are
many things in batmud which are very expensive, which can be shared completely
equally with another player, of course this is not too uber since both the 1st
mate and the captain only have access to the one ship

Finally, if your fear is that some captains won't like this, consider the
following: It should be relatively easy (i would hope) to give the captain the
ability to set PERMISSIONS on their own ship. Enable/Disable Salvage,buy,sell
(crew), rdock, paths, etc. And of course when the captain is on his own ship,
his orders are not changeable by the first mate, but if captain goes ld/gone
the 1st mate should become the captain. Just like in real life.

I would appreciate if some wizard, ANY wizard, would address why this
can't/won't be done. Why is it a bad idea, or if they are working on it, or
any information. Most people with ships agree, even those with cheap ships and
those with the most expensive ships in game. In this ship based world, it
would certainly help make things easier on those of us who cannot
independently afford to have our own ship, and allow us to work with a friend
to make a ship, just like we do to make eq and cities when we can't do it on
our own. In fact, a ship is MORE expensive than a city, and of course everyone
can not afford their own personal city!

Ah, I guess the salvage has been tuned, but was not posted in update, was
posted in sailor guild (a guild i don't belong as I never noticed it and can't
join the guild since i can't afford a ship), But please, the rest of the post
is important. Consider those other changes as well. Captain should transfer to
1st mate (minus the ability to sell/modify the ship, probably)
