I have a suggestion regarding sales. There's a good chance that my
suggestion won't help one bit, but there is (probably) a slim chance
that it might help.

My suggestion is that a Dutch Auction (I think that's what they are called)
style of auctioning could be used as well as the normal style.

For those of you who don't know what this is, the basic idea is
that the item is put up for sale at an initially high price (this
could be somewhat more than the item is worth).

The price is then lowered, in steps, at regular intervals. The first
bidder to accept the price wins.

I'm not sure whether this would actually make a difference. If you saw
a nice item for sale at a price that slowly drops, would you wait until
it reaches a price at which you would definately buy, or would you buy
it before someone else, as soon as the price is reasonable?

My suggestion is that sellers would simply state the fact that the item
is being sold in such a manner and then start spamming the sales channel
(a bit) as they lower the price. Of course, it would also be reasonable
for the seller to withdraw the item if the price falls below what they
would like. That would make little difference to the sale.

I'd guess that this style of auction would only be suitable for
significant sales and it would be pointless to use if the minimum
price is unlikely to be met.
