Hey,

I just thought before I prepare the state of things post for you - I'd share
some background information on why it doesn't happen often enough or the way
you want it.

You see, since we're not a company which keeps their coders on a payroll, most
of the people who code things here are hobyists-volunteers driven by passion
and inspiration. Whenever they are taking on another ambitious project such as
guild, big area or some event of sort, some of them like to spread rumours
about those plans (and we happily can help them by including that information
in the state of mud messages) but some of them prefer to work quietly and then
make information spread at the time such code makes it into the game. The
reasoning behind this is that players are naturally curious and start asking
questions as soon as such information leaks out. Let alone ask questions, some
actually actively start criticizing upcoming changes, before they get to see
the bigger picture. This sort of activities totally kill motivation of people
and therefore hinder the actual progress of the game. Whilst I'm not
addressing anyone in particular, such people exist, who like to "demotivate",
even though from their point of view it's just constructive critical feedback.

Therefore by spreading minimal information we are trying to protect our coders
from such impact and let them code in peace for the sake of global MUD
development.
