Atm 4 considerable guilds get long blades, Civ Fig and old LoC is left out
because they will be gone soon? this leaves us crimson, ranger and cavalier in
nomad and cavalier and knight (bard 75%, and ok ok, disciple 50%!) in
civilized and one
could think back in the days almost everyone was able to use one.
Polearms: e_relig: Reaver, Tzarakk. Nomad: Cavalier, Crimson. Civilized:
Cavalier
Bludgeons: (an interesting one it seems) Nomad: Barbarian, Beastmaster
(crimson 70, cavalier 70). G_relic: Templar. Civilized: Knight, Cavalier.
Short Blades: Nomad: Ranger, Beastmaster. Civilized: Sabre (bard75%,aelena to
be?). E_Relig:Those secret fellas with 8legged friends.
Axes: Nomad: Ranger, Barbarian (crimson 70%). Civilized: Knight (80%) E_relig:
Reaver. (but who the hell uses one anyway, face it, almost all of them suck,
if it was somewhat usable, it weighs like hell)

I would some sort of distribution between them. I bet you can see it too. It's
bit stupid that bludgeons are the most widely used (ok, there is quite nice
supply of those around, but were those really that widely used in our real
life counterpart?). Polearms and axes split the second prize if you count the
crimson in, hmm, I can see somesort of problem here, especially with polearms
having such a little supply and even quite many with wield restrictions
(people calm down, talking about useable ones here, those iron javelins don't
really count.)

And the last spot is taken by short blades (which are only decent at sabre,
right?) and sadly, long blades, which actually have widest variety to choose
between.

I've been wondering the same thing (if I get searcs drift).
The only two guilds of the ones existing I can somewhat see limiting weapon
choices are sabres (sblades) and templars (blunt weapons).
However, taking into account that pretty much the same mythology says some
'guilds' are restricted to eg. leather armour and whatnot, the analogy is
gone.
There're really not that many useful nice weapons in game and the restrictions
guilds impose on their usage is even more annoying.
Therefore, please, allow all guilds access to all weapon skills. That'd add
some nice variation to all reavers wielding kraftigars and all barbs wielding
reaver axes.

I'd suggest that this could be fixed in the following way (provided the
wizards are of the same opinion and there is no 'secret and mighty reason'
behind the current distribution of weapon skills):
Since there are basically four weapon skills available to most tank guilds,
give them all at least 2 main ones which they can get to a high percent, and
give them the other two at a lower percent. Some guilds (nomads come to mind)
should get more than two weapon skills (rangers, barbarians, etc.) to a decent
percent. Also as a personal wish i'd like to see tzarakk guild get long
blades. Just for the fun of it. It's much more satisfying to cut limbs off
than to just poke at people with a big pointy stick, isn't it? :)

I wield Sable axe and Trillo sword as a reaver, but I am an oddball so do not
mind me.
