I agree to bring psi's AND channus to subguids to mages (news display
ideas-wanted 8734).

I would still transfer channus into a backbone of the mage guild structure
and break psi's into two subguilds of mages. Other half using telekiness for
delivering physical damage and protecting against it (inner circle would loose
those), second half doing mental attacks and taking care of mental protection.
The more you would take the base guild (channus) over the absolute needed,
the more tricks you could do with the types you already know and also cast
your spells more (sp) effectively. So inner circle + present mage base =
~channus, but without their own damage types, just sp effectivity inform of sp
discount, increased sp capacity, mana draining and multitype blasts/prots. So
a high level mage (that is, having the base guild high) could get more essence
crits and prot faster.
Psi guild's council board has numerous telekiness spell ideas making it a
valid damage type. Unlike the mind to mind combat of mindbenders,
telekinetic's would manipulate items (read: weapons). The items stats would
also affect how much damage the spell would do thus Tk's would be 'using'
really costy reagents. TK's could then do most damage of the subguilds but
then again bashing vorpals to bits for sheer damage might not be most
reasonable.
The mindbenders would no longer suffer from hp loss when attacking minds,
but instead of ep loss from the exhaustion (thus ending the blood magic).
Mindbenders could do least damage of the subguilds BUT the stunning/interupting
should take a bigger part. Also the undead restriction should fly out of the
window already and the mindless chests to top screeming psi.

Without decent rep the psi levels give you psi prots, one damage type that
is more resisted than the worst mage type and couple (minor) tricks. The 'psi
suffeli' is only available in usable %'s for maxed psi council members. To my
knowledge there is zero such (active) psi players that you describe. I fail to
see the balance when 20 level mage is more usable/wanted than 35 level psi/30
channu, not mentioning 30 level mage. Poison mage and psi are now in equal
position of resistances, yet making that mage is 15 levels faster w/o AoA and
5 levels w/ AoA.

If the resitances would have some MIND, then i would see the reason for 35
levels, but not now.
