There really needs to be some way for us to run away from clones. As a
non-combat player, fighting a clone is a losing proposition.

What i understand about this clone tune, your clone has exact
stats/eq/spells/skills with it's target, so what does it matter if you can
fight or not? Neither does the clone. You just need to be awake when the event
comes :)

This message will self-destruct in 2 seconds.. 1.. Have a nice day ,)

Were that true, my clone wouldn't have been kicking my ass. Instead, I would
have been able to hit it with a wet sock for several hours until I managed to
drag it to someone who could have hurt it. As it was, I fled and died.

I beg to differ. My clone killed me within 3 rounds. I hit aprx 10 damage
per hit, my clone mauled me to 50-100 per round, critted for 300. Without
any weapons or gear.
I grabbed an SBS and few good hitting weapons, plus a healer and then I
managed to kill it. It took a few minutes for me to empty the clone
from its 600 hp's (if it truly is a 1:1 copy).
Yesh, and I have absolutely zero offensive skills and spells.

Getting rid of your clone without fighting it is already possible. The poor
thing is a bit spammy, though. Like someone in a later reply said, you just
need to be awake.
