Here's an idea, and this is a very simple one: If we think newbies are having
a hard time getting around to the newbie areas that are a bit more distant,
why not just build a few more roads? We already have reduced epcost on roads,
and this great (literally great) travel command.

I can't believe that laenor's flavor would be harmed by a road reaching a bit
farther up to mithil, or down to wherever. It needn't even go the whole way.

Except that more roads = more intersections = more stops = less useful travel
command.

This sounds pretty good and shouldn't be too big of deal. And if you want to
"simulate civilization" or something, whatever, you can create new trails and
update some already existing, often used trails into roads.

And to Chaste's reply: "Siis ou mai gaad apua!"

Most newbie areas are already easily accessable, mithil is somewhat of an
exception, along with the elven village and a few others.
In my personal opinion, mithil is an old area, it's built pretty nicely, but
it does not have a lot of interaction for players and it does have some evil
monsters that might destroy your gear. I would not direct any newbies that
way.

Though indeed, a road to the rangers guild, and a few other places might be in
order, truly newbie places like the newbie mountain etc. Might even take those
into consideration.

Why there isn't road to Diggas? It's mainly newbie-area and it kinda logical (I
just love fantasy worlds and logic!:) too, because there's city of Raven. I
stopped using that area after newbie-posts stopped working with me and I
noticed that running there eats half my ep's.

And yes, ep regening is a bitch, but I'll rather do that after hard fight and
use of skills, than after jogging around areas which are in vicinity of
capitol.

Building from this, and another post that might have been in flame:

There should be a road/dirt track to any area that is considered a 'city' or
'town' or in some way civilized. If the area is 'abandoned' or 'forest' etc it
should be out in the boonies/near a broken road.

Who needs roads? True newbies use granite posts...
