Hi,
I've been looking at the spell system and have noticed one thing. Every spell
as of yet, and acording to other players most spells don't have unique
descriptions. While I understand the coding benefits of this, I think that it
would be nice to give them interesting descriptions. Why not describe the
magic missile that shoots out of your palm? What's wrong with describing sharp
thorns hitting your enemy? As it stands both spells have almost identical
descriptions.
Just as an afterthought to the above, some indication of damage done would be
rather helpful.
The main reason is probably that the more confusing a description is, the
more questions people will ask. As for an indication of a spell's power, look
at the spell point cost and rounds it takes to cast. This usually gives a good
comparative idea of spell power.
The visualization is left up to the text given when the spell is cast, and
your imagination.
Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be confusing, just like one line. I
thought it'd add a nice bit of atmosphere and interest personally. Also,
knowing how much damage you are doing relative to the creature doesn't come
from sp cost and rounds I think.

There is a way to determine how much spells do damage, its pretty simple. Cast
it on your fellow player and see how badly he gets hurt.
