In the rare case of an old player returning, a service to help them search for
their old castleroom might be nice to have. I don't think it would be terribly
abusable to allow mortals to search through cities they have ownership rights
to. Worstcase scenario is that some asshole lags the mud, bestcase scenario is
that some retirees find their stuff and decide to return to play the game!

If a player can provide the name of the playercity they live in, im sure the
mortals handling the city can help from there on.

There were a few of these cases when the continents were introduced, most were
solved by asking the location of the pcity on the old continent, I don't
remember a single case where the player did not get to his room.

Is this really such a problem, that we need to provide people with the name of
all pcities with their name in the owners list? Though, even that would not
help in all cases, since some castles don't give ownership, they use
friendslists on guards.

Well since you ask, yes, this was a real problem today. It can be tricky to
find your place if you have no idea about it. ( and please, people with
multiple ownerships would hardly be the ones needing it as they might be the
type of people who write things down )

The main issue with this is cases where someone manages to guess the
password of another character (or the character has somehow been
removed and someone creates a new char with identical name). Then
this feature could be used to reveal the location of chestrooms and
thus facilitate robbing of it.

Obviously this is not a concern in cases where we are able to verify
the identity of the player in a reliable way, but as an automatic
feature it might be a bit risky.
