Here are some random ramblings about racial tunes:

TOO GOOD:
VAMPIRE: Fantastic spr/spmax. Very very good int/wis. Supreme life span.
Very good hpmax (for a caster race) and physical stats. All defects (besides
the lower exp rate boo-hoo) can be offset by easily gettable eq. This race is
the choice dujour of every rebirthed mage.
SHADOW: My personal favourite, this race is absolutely sick. It has tank like
hps (no prots but you can use eq and druid spells to get that). Crazy good
skill/spell maxes. Focus special makes this potentially the best ticking race
in game when combined with tarma/folk. Very nice natural stats in all
categories. Exceptionally long life span. This is such an awesome
hybrid/tarma race in comparison to all others imho. Non-undead too. You can
make just about any reinc with this besides nomad and rock (might even work
with archer with that rockin fmeta!).
TROLL: awesome con/hp ratio (and not half bad spratio either). Hits hard and
giant race so can wield 2handers. Awesome defensive race bonuses and some
good natural prots. Decent (for giant races) exp rate/maxes. This race is
way too good in comparison of the other non-rebirthed tank races.
TINMAN: This race has way too good prots,hps, and caster stats to be making
90+% exprate.
DEMON: Why is this still the only viable option for habo def? Either down it
to be like the other races or make another viable habodef race. Centaur sucks
ass as habodef.
BARSOS: Being only race that can get passives with archer suffeli is cool.
This race is just insanely cool, and hard to tune. I have no ideas, but
including it here for obvious reasons. Only downside is that it makes a poor
def.




JUST CRAP:
GIANT/CYCLOPS: Wow, these races used to rock back in the 90s, best races for
tank. Now they just suck. Absolute shit skillmaxes, ridiculious bullshit
vulnerabilities that make them useless for eq, rather poor dex and all
rewarded by 74% exprates making them useless for exp. Awesome.
LEECH: Still absolutely useless even for an expreinc.
CROMAGNON: Give this race some more spellmax/spratio. There is no reason it
shouldnt be a viable hybrid race. Supposedly cromagnons were even smarter
than homo sapiens.
DUERGAR: Ugrade this race's caster stuff to dwarf levels and it could almost
play a habodef. 180% spell costs are prohibitive and anyone who can make a
duergar can also make a demon, which as i have said, is too good.
ZOMBIE: I love this race but it cannot compete with the other races because it
does not have fast meta. Give it fast meta and maybe downgrade some of the
other stats to compensate and this is another viable choice for tarma. It has
awesome lifespan for a non-rebirth caster which i guess means it cannot be too
good.
ENTS: Please keep up the good work at making this race unplayable.

I would say that most rebirth races are good as they are, they are rebirth
after all, but most, not all. Duergars, atleast in some myths and lores, are
considered to be the magic and evil versions of dwarves, who in nature usually
treat magic with big suspicion, but no, duergars are like the evil gay
versions, not good for anything really, least anykind of caster atleast.
Nobody really plays that race, wonder why!?! except for the same reasons as
Leech, to get race leads perhaps, that comes to the next, leech. Nice concept
and all, but totally useless as Blayke stated, its like playing kobold without
the exprate and even worse stats. Slight uptune on those shouldnt hurt anyone,
only make more choices which is a good thing yes? Next in mind are the
giant,cyclops. Yes, there is nothing really wrong in them, nice tank races and
all, BUT.. their exprates are really kinda bad, very bad to be exact, and
after introducing them the "oh noe a majic missile hit my toe I will run now"
tunes, its kinda sad, even if you can use tricks and suchs to avoid it, its
mostly fucking pointless. Also after talking with Era about ents and their
ability to burn as a torch to give light to the party, he didnt convince me
that there is some real sense in it, even if, by his words, there should be
ways to prevent it, but that, and them season changes and no-regen-in-dark and
so, make it pretty much unwanted in parties, mostly soloing reavers use it I
think? Maybe atleast introduce some instructions on how you can play with it
if it seems the clueless players wont get it, it is really really sad, that
there are so many races, yet, only a few of them are really in tune with each
others, and the rest, which is pretty big portion, are kind of well, assraped.
Look at the who list and compare it with the amount of races people actually
PLAY not just idle for raceleaders, and notice, that there is really little
diversity, and alot of races unplayed because of too uptight administration
and or too busy!?! coders who could and would and care enough
to do anything.
