It would be nice to be able to breed mounts. A low Breeding skill would allow
breeding only within the same species, but given enough skill and luck you
could maybe even cross a swampmonster with a drake. Breeding would result in
some kind of a mixture of qualities from both mounts, but in the case of
interspecies breeding the resulting mount would be infertile. Breeding within
the same species could result in a mount with only slightly improved
qualities, but the mount could be used further in breeding. Of course, you
should track the pedigree to avoid severe inbreeding, which would result in
undesired mutations (lower quality, aggressiveness etc.). It should also be
possible to castrate a mount, so it couldn't be used in breeding any further,
or to tone down its aggressiveness.

I have heard suggestions about mount aging in the past, and this would of
course be related. Taming a young bear and letting it grow to maturity would
probably be simpler than taming a ferocious adult bear, for example.

That said, as attractive as the idea of drake breeding sounds, I'm not sure
how I could feasably make it. A single all-purpose mount age braket system
doesn't currently exist. Also, the growth process, even at BatMUD's 12x faster
time rate, would be at least a month, a time frame I doubt most players would
accept.

Also, please add single-mount portable stables in the form of small red and
white balls.
