I like gnomic apparatuses a lot. I know, they are mostly a flavor thing, but
the sheer seriousness of the construction process and the hilarious randomness
of the resulting gadget gives me giggles pretty often.

Used-up apparatuses are a little boring, though. So, how about:

- Making apparatuses dest after they have been used up (that way one would
always know if they can still be used, though)... ...or make that happen after
a few fruitless presses on the button (that way you could be lucky and just
toss them out and hope that someone else still tries to use them!)

- And/or how about making the description of the apparatus show if the button
has been pressed (at least once) or not. That way you would always know if
they can be used at least once (but you still would not know their true
function!).

- And... if the apparatuses had a chance to be destroyed in use - how about
making them even more unreliable! So, after they have been used up, they would
still have a tiny chance of working (even if destroying would be more likely).

Destroying, over-used appatuses would be super gnomish and a damn fun. They
could burn-out like a blowtorch (perhaps, resulting a fireplace or something),
exploding and hurling debris all over, melting into a puddle, imploding in
another dimension or whatever would cause panic most. :)

Heh, I was quickly pointed out that gadgets indeed do get destroyed after they
have been used up. Well, I did not know that and it was not even the first
time I suggested a tune that has already been implemented. Pardon me, please,
for being the fossil I am. :P
