I've been pondering the fact that why we have Backgrounds in first place, they
dont offer anything else than artificial restriction to guild combinations at
the moment. What I'm suggesting is, how about if we just get rid of the
backgrounds all together?

Removing backgrounds (and the guild restrictions they offer) would offer a lot
more variety to reincing. Allthou there would be need for certain restrictions
to skills/spells/guilds you get in certain combination of guilds. But this
way, we could have more difference and flavour in our reincs. The
spmax/hpmax/epmax ratios and statbonuses we get from backgrounds now, could be
granted from the guilds.

p.s. I know a certain person has a freebg wish for reincing...

Forgot to add this.
The 10lvls gone to nullvoid in this process, would be naturally added to
racial guilds. And race guilds could have bigger variety of skills/spells
there aswell.

The BatMUD council had a vote on a proposal to relieve some of the background
restrictions to guilds. The vote did not pass. Suck it up.

This ideas nice, though I'd say it needs bit develpment. There are some
combinations I really wouldnt wanna see like nunspiders etc that would have
bit of idealogical crashes. Yet, I agree there should be possibilities to
combined more guilds. Could we even start with few, like bringing channellers
back to Civs. Perhaps let goodreligious rangerdruids/bards or something odd. 2
guild combos probably might do the trick? Max 2 full guilds (for
tzarakk,aelena,kharim obv 3, and knights,squire,cavalier what not)
Could this be discussed in the next council? (or was this out of their reach?)

It was discussed in the _last_ council. It was still voted down. Next topic.
