Compared to many guilds, the Tarmalen and Druid guilds are a bit bland. So,
here's a bunch of ideas that could make them a bit more interesting. Not
saying this is needed, or that all parts or needed - just a collection of
ideas to pick and choose from.

Druid Guild rep system idea

Druid leaders can already cast certain spells at any time rather than specific
seasons and there's already calculations for the 4 seasonal leaders - put
these two factors together and have a rep system that allows druids to have a
chance to cast those spells out of season, based on your rep. This would
naturally give 4 rep values - one per season. Probably better for them to be
non trainable skills - when you're a leader, the value temporarily goes to
100%.

For the season specific spells, the precise effect of rep could be as
follows:
effective Cast Runes % = rep % * actual Cast Runes %

Since there's no Spring specific spell maybe Spring rep could reduce the pool
and staff draining cost of druid heal spells (particularly Runic Heal) since
it seems quite high. Should make life easier for newbie druids (highbie druids
likely to be tarma or in party with tarma)

Tarmalen ideas in next post due to post length limit...

I completely agree the druids guild could use some more oomph. However, I am
not sure "chance to cast" is what you're looking for. I really, really don't
think a serious party is going to wait 4-6 rounds to see if "summon storm"
goes off this try. I'd be far more likely to code a number of times per boot
you can cast the spells in question, with leader = infinity.

And there _is_ a spring-specific spell.

Ah right, Natural Transformation was spring specific. Hmm, I've been a druid
continuously for the last 10 months and I don't think I've ever cast that
spell or seen it cast. I'll check it out next time spring rolls by.

I did come up with the following idea though, which I think works nicely with
existing druid concepts and hopefully somewhat interesting:
How about a way to add an "aura" to your druid staff, with a special
sacrificial ceremony. This aura could be season specific, allowing the druid
to cast certain spells out of season, or could maybe boost all druid spells
slightly or maybe a specific druid spell. The aura would last several hours of
player time or a certain number of casts. The components for the ceremony
could be plants found with 'plant lore', with either reduced cost or extended
duration/effect if plants are 'fresh' and/or cast at specific time time of day
(eg noon, midnight, dawn, dusk) or lunar month.

Optional extra: historically, some druid types would look at animal entrails
to predict the future and the like. Maybe an animal corpse would be required
for some ceremonies, though given the 'good religious' background, maybe
aggressive animals only.

Since picking stuff from nature is Gaia wrath limited, the exact requirements
will have to be chosen carefully.

How this 'aura' would work with season leaders' power staffs I'm not sure -
could stack, could replace, or maybe a season specific aura can't be cast if
you're a season leader (which would be a bit of a shame).

Another potential use of this would be to add some points to the druid pool,
maybe something inversely proportional to level (or exp totals) - something to
help struggling newbie druids (who generally have a much harder time keeping
positive).
