I recently watched a new player die to Dayel and then die to Dayel and then
die to Dayel.
While it certainly was an educational experience for the new player. Many new
players may be put off by this, leaving the game never to return.
I can think of some remedies to the situation, but I don't claim to know the
ramifications of all situations.
I would at least recommend Dayel (if not an eq mob) forget aggresion to
newbies. If that's not a good idea, I'd like to recommend that if an
aggressive critter is at the spawn location for a ressing player than the
respawn location should be moved to a neutral location, like the church.
I apologize for formating, it's been awhile since I posted.

Excellent idea. Implemented.
Players of level less than 22 should not be added to hatelist any longer.

I have some words about dayel too. At that time I was lv 36 or so, when I
teleported back to pleasantville, he said I was too big to get there. I had
just teleported there minutes ago, and I could still get in the ville from the
gates until I passed lv 40.

I was lucky to be ressed at the player's location. I wonder if I got ressed
but started at the ville, would dayel constantly saying 'you are too old to be
here' and kill me once and again.

I suggest if someone cannot teleport back to ville, dayel just automatically
set the player's start location to church and never let him set back, not just
slay him at once, or maybe twice.

sorry about an omission.
I was slain by dayel at the moment I teleported to the room.
And I change my start location right after the next ress. so have no idea what
would happen if I was ressed in ville or used pray.

I'm sorry, but by the time you're level 36 you should know better than to
agress monsters at your starting location if you plan on going back there.

However, I made sure that Dayel won't join any other mobs if you happen to be
fighting with them in the same room. With the exception of you doing something
aggressive of course.

well I didn't attack anyone there, or any npc in ville, I have no intention
get my self into trouble. I was in the outside world, so I decided to teleport
back to save some running. the moment I finished teleport, he attack me and
kill me, saying 'you are too old to be here' or something like that.

I think he may attack high lv/exp players, not sure.

No, he does not. He just tells them they are too old to be there.
You aggroed him yourself.

I was wrong. Dayel personally does not, but ALL pleasantville mobs DO. And
Dayel inherits the trait from there. It's an intended feature it seems.
And will remain so.

I'm with Greycavalry on this one. He wasn't asking that they not attack people
who are too big to be there, he's asking that for a newbie who has just passed
this limit, that if these npcs would decide that he's going to get killed, that
ress and/or newbie teleport not put him back to Dayel's room where it's instant
death for them, and/or possibly change their starting location to just outside
of Pleasantville or the church when they pass this threshold so they don't get
slaughtered.

.. I think..

Any particular reason?
