I'm not sure if this has really been argued before, but I'll make my own point
and perhaps it'll be looked at.
In a military based guild, it would probably be beneficial to have active
leadership within a guild. With that being said, the current two leaders
(General and Captain) have been inactive for almost two months+ each. My
suggestion would be that leadership within the guild should be passed down the
next capable (and active) and highest ranking Crimson within the guild.
If you look at it from the realism aspect, if an officer should take leave
from the game (or in this case the guild), my suggestion would be to create a
"take leave," command. Thus is he/she has plans of returning within 30-45?
days of leave, he can maintain leadership within the guild during that time,
if he/she does not plan on returning for a longer period of time, a
"relinquish" command would be beneficial to appoint a successor in his/her
absence.
In a standard military, whenever a commanding officer, or senior leadership is
to take leave, a temporary or permanent replacement is usually selected and
given to the next capable person for the job. It just makes sense to do so, it
works like that in almost every hierarchy. One does not take leave and then
everyone runs around like chickens with their heads cut off in the absence of
a presence of leadership.
So in conclusion, perhaps a "take leave" and "relinquish command" addition to
the guild would benefit the more active Crimson guild members, so others may
take up leadership roles within the guild.
