How about some item, gettable thru silverlake, or maybe some quest or
something
that is a compass for your helm, which will tell you which of the "main"
continental waypoints are closer to your current location. By main I
mean the waypoints by each main ferry dock. That way if you mistype
a path, and strike out over deep sea, but its a little bit before you
realise it, you can check the compass to see if its faster to turn
around or keep heading to where you are going.
