These so called "crit fumbles" imho have their place in the game. They are
there as a little risk every time you cast - just for that one time you roll
extremely unlucky and things really go south. Nowadays in the ages of
flower-bat we have restorepotions for stat losses and even if you don't want
to reinc your troubles away its 'just a bit of exp'
To be honest these are also really really rare. I have been here quite
actively for a decade and this is the third one I hear of this level - where
one was on fri 13th and one might have been a pray (was so long ago). I guess
the chances are somewhat similar to the notorious reincarnation fumble cast or
unseen blast hitting your own face.
That being said I still think rais/ress fumbles have room to improve in
general. For both parties (the resser and the dead one) the situation
currently is unfair. You can only guess the potential of the other end, be it
the luck/caster qualities of the resser or charisma, amount of scars etc of
the dead one. Imho the spells could be tweaked a bit so that both have their
own roll to fumble depending on your own input to the situation... and the
aftershock effect on fumble should hit accordingly who failed the roll and not
randomly. This would promote accepting from weaker players as well as wicked
amulet scarfaces would carry the risk on their own on which raise dead spell
they want to take a pick on.
My spoon to the mix,

PS. Lets keep general group clean of the drama and bit more adult and you
continue the cockfight on BS or something
