Example of some bug/idea/suggestions that I get on a more-or-less daily basis
that I will now respond to all at once:
"Can I use slash with a shield in my right hand and my longblade in my left
hand?"
"Can I use breath of doom, no matter which hand wields the acidic weapon?"
"Can I use guided strike, even with my whip in my fourth hand?"
The answer to all is: no.
Many attack skills (in fact, most attack skills) require that you use the
primary weapon of the skill in your primary hand. Attack skills are a lot more
potent than normal melee hits, and have a tendency to ignore things like
armour, shields, and parry % which normal attacks do not. Many of them have
nifty special effects, like weapon poison, doublestrike, or barbarian fury.
Because they require so much focus to have such a great effect, and also to
preserve game balance, your "primary weapon slot" is required to get them
working properly. Not even the negate offhand penalty skill will allow you to
use an attack skill with the wrong hand. This is especially true in the case
of the more potent skills, such as guided strike.
There will always be exceptions, but those are usually easy to spot. Mining
and bladed fury, for example, check _all_ limbs, and cardiac stimulation
doesn't even require you to wield the knife at all. But for the most part, the
answer is no. Please, please stop asking me to "fix" them anymore. My inbox
just can't take it.
