I have been receiving a large number of tells each day about the current
status of NPC ships. In short, there was a problem in which the way the
program used to make them move was implemented, and we are working on
implementing a solution as soon as possible. The process was largely dependent
on the return of a certain developer from a no-contact business trip, whom has
since returned. I am now waiting on some Archwizards to install some things so
I can get them going again. Once the movement is functional again, I will put
the compasses back in the game. I did not want motionless ships in the game,
as they are too easy a source of both reputation and money, which in turn
causes them to both devalue substantially.
