Yep, you knew this was coming.

In my haste to make items players would like, especially higher-end players, I
overshot the mark on some of the prizes. And I'm sorry for that.

The following changes are being made:
1) Any item that's ridiculously OP will be beaten down to just being "great".
The shield orbs, for example, were giving buggy amounts of hp and fully
healing people. That wasn't the point, and they now give orbs of more
appropriate levels.
2) Stats on the items will remain for one year. At the end of this year, the
items remain, but the MAXIMUM stat value drops. This will make them useful for
newbies and midbies, but highbies will probably revert to their previous gear.
3) The item special powers will stop working in one year entirely.

Hopefully this still makes them fun, useful, and appropriate prizes for the
25th BatMUD Halloween. I hope you enjoyed it, and again, sorry about the need
to tune the eqs.
