Some here asked me why Yeltsin is hated so much throughout Russia. Here are
some statistics. In short, during the 'reign' of Yeltsin:
1. The territory of the country decresed by 23.7%
2. The population (of Russia alone!) decreased by 10 million (!).
3. The number of children in the country decreased by 5 million.
4. 3 million children have no opportunity of going to school (in comparison,
in USSR EVERY child had to go to elementary school.
5. 5 million children are homeless
6. 14 million people are below the poverty line
7. The death rate of newborn children has increased 2.5 times
8. The death rate of children due to drug overdose has increased 48 times
9. The number of children infected with syphilis increased 77 times.
10. The number of Russians diagnosed with tuberculosis increased 2.4 times
11. The number of Russians diagnosed with syphilis increased 25 times, AIDS -
60 times and the number of drug addicts increased 10 times overall.
12. The volume of technological production (all areas) has decreased has
become a third of what it was in the Russian Republic of the USSR
13. The budget of the nation (Russia alone) has decreased 13 times (!)
14. The number of poor inhabitants is 20 times more than previously.
15. The number of organized criminal bands increased 14 times.

The overall damage done to Russian economy is 8 times (!!!) greater than was
done by Hitler's invasion of the USSR.
And all of this happened in just a few years, mostly 1992-1998.
