I see, you decided to take defensive stance instead of being objective. Now
let's see your first reply. which was:

I'd like to know how did you conclude that those examples aren't silly? Did
you consider the names in the language that majority of players have as their
native language, finnish? Or just english? I guess Kimvais should have said
that those names are silly in finnish, but anyway my point was in my last post
(and still is), that unless you understand a language enough, you can't judge
if a name is silly or not. So before saying anything about sillyness of any
name, it should be considered in all major languages present in the mud
(finnish and english at least).
I understand that you like to point out that you are an arch and have gained
significant amount of power here, but still I hope that we could all stick to
the matters in the discussion and try not to plead to personal status.
Firstly, the reasonable thing to do is to end this discussion but I admit it
to be fun so let's continue.
When I said it does not seem anymore silly that your name, I didn't mean that
Kimvais was a silly name just that it was no more silly than the others (to
me). I made my first statement without any consideration to the finnish
translation of the name, but please keep in mind that Kimvais did not present
the fact that he (I am assuming Kimvais is a he for ease of the text) felt the
name was silly when taken as its finnish meaning. The post was in english, so
why should I have assumed the name had a finnish meaning that was to be taken
as silly?
Additionally, after I made the post it did occur to me that perhaps there was
a finnish translation of the names because I assumed Kimvais had some sense.
I did reference some translations for one of the names and Kimvais then did
repsond with a rough translation of which I still think they are not that
silly.
You state that unless you understand a language enough then you cannot judge
if a name is silly or not. This perhaps might be true but you touch on a
deeper point that transcends language. That is the point of personal
relevance and interpretation. Even two different native finnish speakers
might have a different opinion as two whether the two ames are silly. It
seems to have little to do with native language and more to do with personal
perception. That being said it should be quite clear that no final concensus
could really be achieved regarding the sillyness of a name when involving any
population of people.
So I still contend that your assertion of letting an archwizard of the
nationality of the language the name is in make the decision is still not
really based on any logical fact. Other than perhaps you would accept the
opinion of someone who spoke the native language the name is in which in that
case I cannot argue with that because judgement of a rule such as silly names
will always come to opinion.
To conclude my position: Because even a native language finnish person cannot
conclusively deem a name as silly without it being a mere opinion it follows
that their opinion is no more valid than a non finn speaking (when the said
name is in finnish that is). Therefore my reference to the archwizard rules
status etc was A) mostly kidding but also

pointing out that sometimes
someone just has to make a decision. But even still maybe just maybe that by
not speaking the language it qualifies me even more so than one who does
I end with a name that I think is a good example of perception whether or not
you speak english as native language or even not at all: skatman (silly or not
silly? offensive or not offensive? dirty or clean? depends on how you read it)
