Already a lot of the mobs are vastly harder than they were when added to the
game. Lemme give you a few examples: Rechendak. Once wasnt so hard, took
like 2or 3 hrs with a semi decent party. Now only the best party really can
suceed and you better plan to die. A lot. Also reaver. Very nice eq. Used
to be perhaps too easy in that it took a only an hr of time and probably 80%
sucess rate. Now, well hardly anyone suceeds. My point is this. Wizzies
have an urge to prevent eq flowing out of the game. But to keep this game
interesting and available to newer younger players, you have to make eq and
GOOD eq doable by people who arent the best. My solution would be to up
PERSONAL rape prots on mobs, and increase the rotting of non named eqs. Maybe
make eq rot faster if your higher lvl ....higher lvl exp players will im sure
whine, but if at that point in the game, its time to start doing something
other than digga trolls. If we want too see this game keep growing, and not
become some oldbie friends country club, then i think we have to make sure
that the new players feel that they a good eqset is reachable in their
lifetimes.

Here is a suggestion that may help: Named EQ could have a MUCH greater bonus
that it currently has. This would cause two things to happen. a) People would
rape less, as the eq they make will not be as valuable b) People would be
encouraged even moreso to do their own eq.
The first time people start considering doing eq is ussually when they reach
about level 45-50. Much of the eq that is doable by these type of parties is
JUNK (0-2 spr, + 1-3 stats type eq) and hardly worth using since they ussually
have enough money to buy something better and the time it takes them to make
it is not worth it. For example level 45-50 artemis 9 man party would probably
spend at least a few hours killing this monster for one 2spr rod. They might
make 10k each for their efforts if they sold the rod.
What if this rod gave 4spr with name bonus (and only 0-1 spr without name
bonus). Suddenly it is worth alot more to this party and is actually worth
killing. If they wanted to purchase a magic wand without their name it might
only give 2 spr (but 6 spr with name bonus).
These are just some examples (do not take these stats literally) but I think
if the system was like this it would actually encourage doing eq MUCH more.
(not to mention that named eq takes less damage). The eq market would be less
flooded with eq from highbies since the stats lower level players could
achieve better stats by doing eq themselves.
Once downside is that this punishes players that do not wish to do eq. But I
believe doing eq is part of the game and if you want these benefits then you
must do it. Alot of eq mobs can be done in 30 mins so you cant complain about
time factors.
Of course we then have a quesiton of what to do with all the eq in the game
already. I dont have a suggestion for this.
