as archers stand, this is how i\'d build a reinc into them w/my meager totals.

Orc(all skills to rac(82)/guild max), 18 levels archer
I\'d train crossbow mastery,winching, and large crossbow shot.
Then ALL def skills, hop back, and switch weapon.
Then the location/bypass armour, scrounge/make ammo, break ambush

Then 22 crimson to get sblades/shield bash/slash/parry to guild/rac max

this would cost, with levels(guessing on crimso skillcost) around 37M for
archers and levels and 6M for crimso skills. 43M total.

Training points:enough con to break 1k hp and hopefully enough dex to break
100. (between eq and the 15 i\'d get from guild levels, dex would be around
150 then)If both of those are accomplished, then anything else would go into
dex. If not, 1k hp is the main goal w/the rest going into dex.

The remaining exp would alternate between archer level/crimson, training parry
and throw weight for crimson and any relevant def skill for archers, getting
around 3 more levels apiece for each guild. Training points would go into dex.
That would cost around 60M

Then I\'d try my hand at being a defish tank with a 200(min, w/aiming) dmg
starting offskill who\'d switch wp to sword/shield after shot goes off.

Lack of a high combat sense wouldn\'t work with big mean mobs, but pretty sure
it would work well in 3man 5-40k exp mob parties. exp would be dumped into bolt
burst first(for higher damage start skill), then levels for more def.

Can anyone see any problems with this setup?

A backrow only archer would be really cool if modified ammo did full dam type,
especially if you went hobbit sling/stunning shot. def skills wouldn\'t drain
exp and you could take ss lvls for even MORE dex!

A skill maybe? ack, how to word this..a skill that increases the dam type of
modified ammo and decreases phys dmg..so you would still do the same dmg, but
more would go into the dam type of the modified ammo that your using. Hope
that makes sense. I believe this would encourage more backrow style archers.

my two cents.

I\'d like to hear ideas of how people would do an archer reinc now that you
kind of know what\'s what w/the guild.

Well, first of all I would train only one weapon type - either longbow or xbow
(I trained both when I did this reinc to test them out, and sling to some
percents also). Second of all, I\'d go barso again (due to wasted main hand,
barso archers are #1 as damage output is still almost 3/4 of the base).

As far as levels, haven\'t really looked at things that much, but about 20+
archer (full dodge + reasonable missile skills) + as many ranger as I could
afford is what I\'d go for; barb+archer doesn\'t work too well (imho), and
crimso doesn\'t bring much extra to archer (lowlevel players seldom get to do
all their exp as deftanks, and for offtank pure archer is as good as
crimso+archer).

Stats.. hmm. I\'m pretty content with what I have on that front..

Still, ultimate question is, would I make such a reinc? Answer is most likely
\'hell, no\'; although I\'ll get to try Shinarae\'s tunes only later today, at
least before them even with loaded up barso archer(ranger), I was scoring maybe
2/3 of the rate I did with gnoll barb(ranger) to party status; add the lack of
exprate of barso and gnoll\'s insane one and I wound up doing maybe half the
exp I did before solo.. I don\'t know why, maybe I just suck.

If I wanted to do def exp, I\'d make squire-cav-beastmaster with chaos drake
(takes considerably less damage, the mount specials are nice, and I get to
tear off my hair in frustration when my mount is forgotten somewhere); if I
wanted to do off exp, I\'d return to the barb-(ranger); I don\'t really see
the point of archer for anyone with less than 90+ levels (then you can do
squire-cav-bmaster-archer, which is probably #1 def out there right now).

Has anyone who has more exp than me tested out the viability of stunning shot
with slings or staff slings? If you could consistently stun mobs with it then
it might work well with barso's other 3 hands burning melee.

How to make your modified ammo do more of the nonphys type:
-- be an alchie. They tend to do that when they use the skill.
