Now that cities are being placed, there are a number of questions on channels
from people unable to find their city. (The portal from church will no longer
take you to your city.) Some cities have city-specific SS channel, but many do
not.

Posting to news with location of city is an option, but that is spammy (and
some may not want to post in that fashion.) Most cities will end up on the
maps Ooga and others have been working on, but some may not. Some well-meaning
city councillors (myself included) may not know the full tenant list of their
city, and have no useful way to communicate this to everybody.

Could we perhaps have a means (temporary, even) for players to find out where
their city is located if it has been placed. (Not just a random list for
anyone to read, but something that would tell you only about cities where you
specifically own rooms? I realize this won't work for some because some cities
don't actually give ownership, but many do. Another option would be to give
people a free teleport to the start location they had set before the shipwreck
location? (So after the first time they log on they can find Arelium and then
teleport to the city to set their startloc.)

Just hoping to minimize that stress and fear those players who are at the whim
of city owners have about their eq.

Maybe that would be something a wizard eye could dig up?

cast \'wizard eye\' orion
=
You sense that the city orion is located in the continent south-west from
here.

cast \'wizard eye\' ninjatos
=
You sense that the city ninjats is located at huge distance to the north and
short distance to the east from here.

At least, i could imagine myself sending my magical wizard eye to scout the
location of a place for me instead of scouting the surroundings to me. Might
take a while for the eye to find it, but hey im not in a hurry. Wake me when
you are done, mmkay.

A :-D hits you.

Not a bad idea for some. I did have less powerful players in mind, though.
Those who have no means to find their city if it\'s not mapped yet and council
and other residents haven\'t been able to share it with everybody yet.

If it\'s a one-time thing (teleport to previous startloc to set it there) it
would hopefully be free. If it\'s some short-term repeatable option, maybe
cost scale similar to ferry? I\'m sure just an option to get people to their
previous startloc where their chests are would be greatly appreciated. As a
flavor/theme option, maybe some NPC in Arelium can help you get to your
previous pcity startloc after you do an errand for it?

Just concerned for the low exp/level/cash/etc folks who might find this
overwhelming to deal with. Something like this happens and then some are
greeted with rude comments on channels when they try to get help. (Yes, it\'s
not flowermud, but this is something very out of the ordinary.)

Maybe members of the Wanderers guild should have a method to find out this (and
it would be service like druids\' Inquiry to Ahm)?
