Okay, a while ago we did some experimentation with area area-instances, and I
think the verdict was that we wouldn't be doing them for most stuff. With the
new continents, it might be nice to have a different form of area
instances...one in which the newbie mines might be on a few different
continents, or perhaps a few other areas that people commonly use. This might
be a nice way to easily add some functionality to some more remote areas of
the game. A few benefits to this would be: when copying newbie/lowbie areas,
this would enable the newer/lower-lvl players to play on continents other than
laenor (and yes, I realize there is the post, but it also goes away pretty
low-lvl); some utility functions like the diggas shovel dispenser or such
could be nice to have in more than one place; the fox huntmaster's hut should
be placed in more spots so that the fox hunt could be on diff continents;
perhaps a few guilds could be cloned over instead of having remote trainer
NPCs.
The eligible areas would be ones with more of a generic feel...not very many
named mobs, etc. A few example:
* Bc sewers into each major city.
* Newbie mines
*foxhunt hut (okay, one room, could just code different ones)
* bob's orchard
* drawbridge
* Chessboard
* almost anything with newbie in the name

And no, things shouldnt necessarily be on ALL continents, but for example roth
could also be made more newbie friendly with a few of those areas...perhaps
someday even newbies could be given a choice of a few different places to
start...
