This is one of those conventional-code ideas, but I think it would be
helpful. You could use a command called 'buffer' to store any output
up to level+n lines, and then compare it to another. For instance:

buffer save 'show skills'
cast melodical embracement
buffer compare 'show skills'

This would tell you which skill would have changed by displaying
the line that changed.
Or perhaps:

buffer save 'look at <something>'
buffer compare 'look at something quite similar'

Or to see if a room changes after you've done something somewhere.
