Could somebody maybe look into the "sailor signal <ship>" command in the
sailor guild, and have it work from ferries? I can't count how many times
I've sailed to a continent, secured the ship in the ferry, then become
stranded somewhere without the ability to call my ship. If I think about it
in advance, I have to secure the ship a few rooms from the ferry just so I
have the option of calling it to me later.. :/

I can see the argument of "the ship can't see your signal from inside the
ferry" maybe, but this is more about usability than realism.

While you're in there looking at the code too, fix it so that signaling works
for your mates and bosns too. Its quite silly that they have to own ships too
to use it, doesn't that defeat the purpose of those positions? (more or less)
