Would be cool, if you could hire an npc character into your party, it would
take its share of exp like a normal healer, would cast some heals for a
command, or unstuns or whatever, all depending on the levels of the npc, of
course, full guild would alot more. There could be several guilds represented,
the usual working class, healers, merchants, mages and suchs, Only, they would
be with basic things, nothing fancy like prismatic bursts or creating or
adding any items into the game, basic heals, basic blasts, basic merchant
services. You would pay for the time they serve you as well as some for the
amount of things they do. Getting them killed would be fined with exp/cash.

Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of this idea, too. If it was
implemented, the NPCs should uniformly suck, casting only cure light or magic
missile occasionally, and cost should be based on player level, so newbies
could also afford the service.

Which brings me to my other point, I guess... Couldn't you just invite a
newbie to party?

I'm against this idea, but the obvious advantage is for people who have other
things to do irl.. an npc party member won't care if you go idle to take a
phone call, go do the laundry, walk the dog, fix dinner, whatever.. while a
typical party would surely be a disaster if you went afk every other 5 mins.

Legalise botting; would make life a whole lot easier, would make eq mobs a
whole lot easier, would make exp a whole lot easier, AND would save us from
RSI :D
