Can a 'set' option be added to not have timestamps on pkills for those of us
that don't care for the timestamp?

Yea, sure, if there's a real reason to it. If it's just "I don't like how it
looks" then go ahead and gag it from your client. And if you just don't care
for it use the mental ignore :) But sure, reason it well and I'll add it.

I've already written a gag for the date, but the real reason for the request
is that the npc names are cut 5-6 letters shorter than before. For most mobs
this doesn't matter, but for some this creates duplicates in mob databases for
those of us that track them by worth/name from party kills.
