Ok, I haven't been offtank in a long while. And now I made one. Observations?
[1] non-barsos don't hit THAT hard (especially now that combat speed boon was
'tuned')
[2] without stun capability you won't hit broad side of barn, damage sucks
horribly, and you get ass-raped in the bargain if you don't stick to bunnies
[3] without mount mobs will rip you a new one fairly fast given [2]
Conclusion? I think the offtank game revolves right now only around stunning,
as you take way, way more damage while dealing much less if you don't have
barb/clawer/psi around.
What prompted this post?
Given my non-stunning non-mounted offtank, my solo exprate seems to be in ~1/4
territory of a nundruid(tarma) before exprate, which is just downright silly
(or my previous reinc was in better tune than I thought). If offtank parties
really do much damage, just downtuning stun even slightly would probably get
them in line with whatever 'ideal' someone has.
(That said, I think 2-3man def+nun/tarma+mage parties can do obscene exp too,
so I don't know what's the brouhaha about offtanks all about anyway.)

If you downtune stun from claw/psy/cry/lure you make these party members less
usefull. I think that instead of dountune some guilds combination we need tune
party so it gives some nice bonuses, like:
1. more party members - more bonus exp. maybe double exp for 9 man party?
2. mages can get arcane ritual skill. this skill need to be channeled (so no
other action when using it) but gives spr bonus to whole party.
3. Good relig can get help recover skill. as for mages but speed up hp/ep
recovery to wholeparty.
4. nomads can get tactical planning or something. better planning will gives
lasting bonus to def/dam/avoid?
this skill will work only in 3+ man parties or so.
