There should be a way to check and see whether a post was sent via mud or web.
Also, it would be nice if we had some mud commands for viewing individual
posts more easily:
news view bs 472
shows me post 472, and returns me to the mud prompt.

news details bs 472
shows me post 472, and whatever other info there is...this would include for
example, 'News agent: batmud 1.0' or 'News agent: batwww 1.0' or whatever.
The details would also show any other semi-spam info there is about that
post...

Even better yet would be if I could customize my mud news interface...I go
into the mud's text interface, and make a document that looks like:
Subject: <subject> Sender: <from>
Stats: lvl <senderlvl> age <senderage>

<message>

... Then, it would fill those features...

Try: news display bs 472

As for why a player would need to see if an article has been posted via
the web or the mud is beyond my comprehension. Sure, all kind of info is
"cool" but will it really offer any added benefit?

Someone just pointed out the news display thing...I just noticed it in 'help
news', I had only been checking the syntax from when you type 'news' with no
args.

As for why? well, the only real thing I can see is coolness factor...I can't
think of a really practical use.

Also, I didn't quite get your concept abou customizing appearance of web-news.
Could you come up with a little broader explanation of what exactly you want
to custommize

When suggesting ideas to ideas-wanted, please bear in mind that we only
have a limited amount of coders (wizards) and an even more limited amount
of approvers (archwizards) who can review the code. And we don't have plans
to massively increase either group. Quality over quantity, or something like
that.

Hence, while we do appreciate suggestions for things that could be
implemented, it would be nice if you as players, would ask yourself if
the feature(s) you are suggesting really adds any proper value to the
game. In my view, a properly worded post to ideas-wanted would ideally
contain a description of the feature, and an explanation why that feature
is really needed. That will allow us to better consider a priority for
the change.

What we DON'T need is for other players to scream and flame (usually in
caps) people that post their ideas tho.

Even tho this article is an reply to an existing article, it is no way
intended to single out this one thread, but more meant as a guideline for
anybody who suggests new ideas. This idea atleast had some sense in it,
even tho the "work needed/added value"-ratio of it is quite low :)

help news for feature about viewing an article.

Read the damn helpfile before asking for new features which are present like
for 8 months now.
Hint: news display bs 472

As for Newsagent, I would agree with Gore, I do not see much sense in doing
that. If you can provide me with a good reaon to do it, I won't see a big
problem in implementing that.
