From the instrument tune continuing on the bardic note thought I'd put forward
some other ideas concerning songspell casting. At the moment only flavour in
songspell casting is the slow progress of bardic might. So I thought something
to add could be a mastery called Virtuosic performance/performing or such. The
amount you get would depend on your might and it's affecting stats and skills
would be (high) dex and songmastery. A Virtuosic(tm) performance could affect
different songspells in various ways. Such as:


A Virtuosic Con Fioco causes critical damage and burns monster with damage
over time.

A Virtuosic Melodical Embracement would add a minor spr boost. Possibly a area
ceremony effect.

A Virtuosic Sweet lullaby would have the same effect as the Ranger fast nap.

A Virtuasic Campfire tune would give more hp, a spell crit of sorts. Can't
think of anything more interesting now.

A Virtuosic dischord could break monster concentration as it hurts eardrums.
Could also drop monster avoid from that effect.

The bonuses aren't meant to make casting the paticular spells more necessary
as bards are pretty central in large parties already but to give the caster
more variety. Progressing the mastery will be a slow progress. Some of the
ideas are borrowed and could take some more thinking over.

The availability of the mastery would require a Professional Bard, meaby all
30 levels. There's already incentive to take full bards but some still feel
that songmastery is not necessary and get navs/qc from elsewhere. As
songmastery also affects virtuosic performing, they might be persuaded to take
full levels. As this goes into songmastery territory, some rework of
songmastery could be required as people don't seem to appriciate it or see
it's effects. As a requirement for Virtuosic Performances it would seem more
desireable.
