Balanced Alternative Techniques Ry is proud to introduce our
new server: Moonrind

The server is named after a relatively recent encounter in
BatMUD lore - Moonrind the Ent, the ancient one. In the long
line of ent guardians, Moonrind is the last one. Long has he
tried to imagine what treasures he is guarding, only knowing
of the crown jewel of this treasure, the Ambrosia. Orcs of
the Blackbone clan want it too, for their own purposes. The
dryads that keep company to the age-old ent tell of Moonrind's
secret, his brother, Sunbark, who left or disappeared long
before this conflict. Moonrind never speaks of his brother.
Maybe one day he will return...

The new server boasts dual Intel Xeon E5-2643 processors and
128 GB of RAM. The further speed up the game, we are now
running on dedicated PCIe SSD drives. Further hardware specs
will be updated into "help hardware" shortly.

We will keep a close eye for any unforeseen issues that the
server change may have caused, but if you come across something
that seems to have broken in the server chance, please inform
an archwizard.

The old BatMUD server - Ix'ixixiblat - will continue to run our
other services, including www.bat.org and HC BatMUD. Our third
server - torturer.bat.org - will likely be decommissioned shortly,
as it is over 7 years old.
