This year, the Halloween event brings you the most important part of the
holiday: trick or treating!

Houses will be scattered across the various continents of BatMUD. Head to
these houses, knock on the door, and see what you get! Here are some ground
rules.
-- trick-or-treating in groups is recommended, especially in bad neigh*cough*
Furnachia.
-- the event will start slowly, as houses spawn over time. Go early, go late,
do a little of both, up to you.
-- rewards are personal/party-based. Player-player cooperatio is highly
encouraged.
-- finding the houses is a big part of the challenge. Obviously you can wander
the outworld and hope for the best, but you might have better luck finding
maps leading to house locations. Look in monster-owned boxes, and maybe a few
other places.
-- regardless of what you get, or don't get, by going from door to door, there
is a special reward you can get at the end. The value of this reward is based
on the number of houses you found during the event. I won't give you all the
details, but expect at least training points and a quest out of it.

The event runs for all 24 hours of Oct 31 (local time) plus the rest of that
reboot, for a total of 36 hours. I'll check in from time to time to see if
things are running smoothly, and I'll make adjustments as necessary.
I placed the event's coordinator monster in the newbie graveyard, near the
Arelium Church.
