with limited data, the drop rates appear to be 2-3% for non alchs and 3-4% for
alchs. extract ether from corpses is currently inefficient means of gathering
essence and likely wont be changing in the future.
more essence numbers:
if you gave me 100 essence, once refined it will turn into 300-400g of
essence. refining is not a fast process. it will take atleast 1 minute to
refine 1 essence. highbie alchs can refine 2 essence in 1 minute. (nosunrise
secondary refines 1/min or 60/h and i can do 115/h) thus there is an inherent
sunk cost to refining essence which is watching paint dry and you derp around
waiting. its even more slow than amalgamating and refining a day of ore from
mining.
based on my numbers, i think each essence usually yields 3g of essence. this
number has changed a lot since essence was introduced and has trended upwards
a bit so that it might average 3.5g an essence. im not entirely sure of this,
but i know it is more than 3 but definite less than 4. for simplicity sake, i
will continue onwards assuming it is 3.5g of essence per.
you giving me 100 essence then yields 350g of essence. an even distribution
means i will have roughly 11g of each essence (over a large enough sample size
this would average out to this)
elixir power is exponential, thus a 5% elixir costs 2^5g which is 32g. a 6%
elixir costs 2^6g which is 64g and so forth. if you want to mix a secondary
affix, it scales based on total power. thus a 3% spr and 3% dmg elixir would
cost 32g of each essence for a total of 64g.
so if you wanted a 4% elixir, it would cost roughly 150 essence and a lucky
distribution along with a refining time of 90-150 minutes depending on the
alchemist.
if each essence is 2k (this is likely going to change) that means a 4% elixir
base cost will be 300k + time (currently i am charging 1k/per refine) so based
on my price it would be 450k for a 4% elixir.
that is all i am willing to share, if you have questions i may or may not
answer them.
