A few months back Mmiao wrote a post in general about how Bat is a pay to win
game. They had a few other complaints about the dificulties of exploring, but
really that is part of Bat imo. Now, there is nothing wrong with pay to win,
I've donated a bit and it helps keep the mud going. However, I think there
needs to be a better way to gain the 'win' part without having to pay.

In the other pay to win games I've played in there has always been a way to
grind the in game currency (to be clear for Bat that is task points). While
there are some ways to get TPs with out paying (cons, bugs, sweet talking
drunk wizzes, winning Damogran) it's not really enough.

So, what can be done? I'm told that in HC Bat you can just buy TPs from the
store with gold. That could work, but it doesn't feel right. HC has it's
risk of total loss with death and I don't they that system would work great on
flower. There could of course be some new content added with a way to gina
TPs or some other in game currencey that would give a similar power boost.
That would require a fair bit of work I think, and if some wiz wants to put in
the time great!

Or... just give TPs for completing quests. Yes we alredy get money, training
points, level cost reduction, and whatevery eq that may or may not come with
the quest, but what's wrong with tacking on a bit more to incentivize people
to do them. Pay out task points on a scale similar to training points, but at
maybe half the rate (and only once per quest regargless of births). This uses
a sytem alredy in placeand keeps the number of task points you can earn
limited.

"But Malcom this will make XXX to powerful" or "But Malcom I donated $$$ to
git gud and so should the noobs!"

So what? Make the endgame more accesable to newbies without having to pay. I
and am sure people will still donate, you can always use more boons or that
sweet arch item that jsut went up for sale.

Or maybe remove the huge tax on taskpoint shop and implement a system where
taskpoints could be used for player transactions with some tax (lets say 12,5
vs old 87,5%).

Does this make game more pay2win? - for newbies maybe. does it increase
donations? - maybe.
Perhaps make it work like stock exchange to determine the monetary value of
tps.

Hell, i'd even accept 40% tax on tp transfers if the idea is to remove tps
from the game, but the current tp shop is very scarcely used and could use
some love.
