Polpot is right, conversations like this are pointless. Nothing anyone can
say that will change others minds. Yet, for some reason, it is still fun and
refreshing to have these discussions. Much better than killing each other.
=) But anyway, this post is to point out the fact that it seems like people
(american, finnish, english, whatever) seem to confuse governmental
policy/action with public opinion. All sides make these blanket statements
(Americans are this, Finns do that, Brits all think that... ) and that is just
ridiculous. All countries are made up of people with different opinions and
ideals and making stereotypical statements just shows your lack of an
understanding of culture and society. Do you really think every single
American doesn't think Canada has a coastline?
That is just absurd and you, not your race not your country not the world,
just you are a fuckin moron. And back to the confusment between government
and citizens, I personally do not agree with probably 90% of the things the US
government does, yet I am included as one of those bastard americans in the
anti-american propaganda posts. Until you have met and talked with every
american citizen, you cannot say what the opinion, hopes, desires, dreams of
the american people are.
Surely as much as some of you claim to know about how are government works,
you must realize the average citizen has no control over how the military is
used and must surely know by your own claims of self-genius that we are kept
in the dark of such things until they are done. But as smart as some of you
say you are, you must have already known that. It is rather perplexing I
must say.
